ANTON DOLIN: THE WORLD AFTER THE OSCAR’S

29 March 2026 | 19:00

Lecture

Language: Russian

Teal House | Warsaw

Anton Dolin is one of the most prominent Russian-speaking film critics, who has been observing the global film industry for many years — from the Cannes Film Festival to Hollywood. He talks about cinema as a living industry: how the agenda is shaped, who sets the trends, and why certain films become symbols of their era.

On March 16, the winners of the world’s most prestigious film award — the Oscar — will be announced, and at this event Anton will break down the results in detail: the major wins and losses, unexpected decisions, controversial moments, and hidden meanings. What do the results say about the state of contemporary cinema? Which themes are coming to the forefront? How does the Oscar influence culture and what we will be watching in the years ahead?

This is a conversation not only about the ceremony itself, but about the noise surrounding it — why the Academy’s decisions spark debate, what signals they send to the world, and what they reveal about the time we live in. A conversation about cinema as a phenomenon that both shapes reality and reflects it.

Following the talk — a live conversation with Anton, where you can ask questions and discuss topics related to film, as well as the broader picture of what is happening in the world.

The event is held in an intimate format, at the Teal House venue, with limited seating available.

All proceeds go to the Teal House cultural fund.
