THE GREAT ILLUSIONS: AI IN ART PROJECT IS AN AMBITIOUS INITIATIVE BY TEAL HOUSE, SUPPORTED BY THE NATIONAL RECOVERY AND RESILIENCE PLAN (KPO) AND THE EUROPEAN UNION UNDER NEXTGENERATIONEU.

This project unites three key directions — a theatrical premiere, a conference, and a mentorship program — all centered around the shared theme of exploring the intersection of art and artificial intelligence. Through these events, the project examines how technology is reshaping creativity and opening new possibilities for artistic expression.

PREMIERE POLISH VERSION

DECEMBER 7-8 AND 14-15

The Polish premiere of Mahamaya Electronic Devices is based on Ivan Vyrypaev’s thought-provoking play. This performance pushes the boundaries of theater, using innovative storytelling to tackle profound questions about morality, human rights, war, and the environment. Enhanced by a compelling blend of electronic music and visuals, the play invites the audience to reflect deeply on the complexities of the human experience.

AI IN THEATER – NEW FORMS OF NARRATIVE AND AUDIENCE INTERACTION

Led by Maciej Janik, this workshop addressed legal complexities of AI-generated art, focusing on copyright, ownership, and ethical considerations.

This one-day conference brings together cultural leaders, artists, technologists, scientists, business professionals, and curious minds to delve into the transformative role of AI in creativity. Featuring inspiring lectures, hands-on workshops, and foresight-driven discussion, the conference examines ethical considerations and the fusion of human and machine creativity.

GREAT ILLUSIONS MENTORSHIP PROGRAM: SHAPING FUTURE CREATORS

Running from December 6-22, this mentorship program invited five local theater creators from across Poland to participate in a unique learning experience. Centered around Ivan Vyrypaev’s Mahamaya Electronic Devices, the program explored the intersection of art and AI, with AI acting as a "fifth actor."

WHAT IS "GREAT ILLUSIONS"?
At the heart of the project was Ivan Vyrypaev’s play Mahamaya Electronic Devices, tackling controversial topics such as morality, war, human rights, and the environment. This futuristic work integrated artificial intelligence as a key "actor," responding to questions posed by human performers. The performance also included audiovisual improvisations by J. Jędrasik and Full Metal Jacket.

PROGRAM HIGLIGHTS

  • Attending premiere performances of Mahamaya Electronic Devices

  • Participating in workshops and mentorship sessions with Ivan Vyrypaev, Jacek Jędrasik, and other experts

  • Creating original drama etudes inspired by the play and conference discussions

  • Presenting work to a local audience and having it published online

  • Gaining valuable experience working with AI and modern audiovisual tools
