Armen Zakharyan. Book presentation «Letters of Obscure Men» & talk with the publisher
n the early 16th century, a dispute over the fate of Jewish books grew into a large-scale intellectual conflict that divided Europe. Against this backdrop emerged one of the boldest texts of the era – the satirical collection «Letters of Obscure Men», which became a literary response to denunciations, persecution, and attempts to restrict freedom of thought and expression.
Armen Zakharyan’s new book revisits the history of this text, bringing readers back to a moment when the struggle over manuscripts and books became a struggle for the future of European culture.
During the event, the author will present his literary debut together with Babel Publishing, speak about the work behind the book, and answer questions from the audience – and, hopefully, future readers.
