CHULPAN KHAMATOVA
Chulpan Nailevna Khamatova is a celebrated theater and film actress and a prominent public figure. She has become one of Russia's most recognized and acclaimed actresses, earning critical praise and capturing the hearts of audiences. However, an equally, if not more significant part of her life has been her work in philanthropy. In 2006, Chulpan founded the Podari Zhizn (Gift of Life) foundation, which provides aid to children with cancer and other serious illnesses, making it one of Russia's largest charitable organizations.
Following the start of military actions in Ukraine in 2022, Khamatova, along with more than 80 leaders of NGOs and charitable foundations, called on Vladimir Putin to end the hostilities. Later that March, she left Russia and moved to Latvia. In Riga, she continued her acting career, joining the troupe of the New Riga Theatre. For her performance in the solo play Post Scriptum, she received the prestigious "Actress of the Year" award at the Nights of the Jesters theater awards.
💸 The event is supported by Dzielnica Wisła and Przystani Warszawa.
